Founded in 1944, we are one of the oldest chapters of the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) in the nation. We are a national and regional representation of a $210 billion industry. We are at the forefront of research efforts and workplace issues.
Run and supported by volunteers, we offer many opportunities to get involved with other training and development professionals, to enhance your own skills and knowledge, and to develop your leadership skills.
Whether you are a professional in the field, a student just starting out, or are new and transitioning into Training and Development, you will find that the ASTD Golden Gate Chapter offers many privileges and benefits.
Here are some statistics about our chapter:
- 228: Number of members on 1/1/12. We have members in North Bay, San Francisco, East Bay, South Bay and Silicon Valley.
- 41: Total number of events we organized in 2011. The programs include monthly educational programs, community outreach programs, professional development workshops, webinars, special interest and geographical interest groups and our annual gala.
- 5: The number of years we closed our budget in the black, ending in 2011.
- 4: The number of years we have had our annual members and volunteers appreciation gala. It is a lot of fun!
